Our Story
We are a children’s media and education technology company building at the earliest and most overlooked stage of the engineering talent pipeline.
About
Every year, the United States needs approximately 400,000 new engineers. Yet according to BCG and SAE International, nearly one in three of those engineering roles will remain unfilled each year through at least 2030, a persistent talent gap that risks undermining essential industries and critical government investments.
Black women represent just 0.5% of the engineering workforce. These numbers share one root cause: children who never had the chance to see themselves as engineers.
Engineering identity is the belief that engineering is for someone like me and forms before middle school. By fourth grade, one in three students has already decided that STEM is not for them.

Our Mission
Engineering identity starts here.
We create children's books, digital curriculum, and corporate programs that introduce K-5 students to engineering through story, play, and hands-on problem solving. Our flagship series, Girls Can Be Engineers, pairs published illustrated books with EngEducation, a digital engineering curriculum aligned to NGSS standards for Kindergarten through Grade 5.
Each book introduces a new engineering discipline through a diverse female protagonist. Each digital module gives students the chance to solve the same challenge the character faced.
Each corporate partner visit puts a real engineer in the room, showing students that the person in the book could be someone they know.
